Frequently Asked Questions

How do I take care of my tub after it has been refinished?
Taking care of your newly reglazed tub is easy.  Do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, nor should you use abrasive pads.  This will eventually damage the finish.  A soft cloth or sponge along with a green cleaner, liquid tub and tile cleaner, or even liquid soap will do a good job of cleaning the new surface.

How long will the refinished surface last?
With the proper care it easily last 10 to 15 years.

Will my bathtub look like it has been painted?
Definitely NOT.  In fact it is difficult for the untrained eye to tell the difference between a new tub and our refinished tubs.  We pride ourselves on getting our surfaces to LOOK and feel that GOOD.

How long does the refinishing process take?
Refinishing a bathtub typically takes between 3 to 4 hours depending on the condition of the tub.  Countertops being refinished in a solid colour takes about the same amount of time. Our Stone or Granite look counters take up to 2 hours longer to complete but the end result is fantastic!

My tub is another colour, can you refinish it in white?
Absolutely, in fact white is the most popular colour requested by customers.

What other colours can you refinish in?
Our three standard colours are white, almond, and bone. Upon request, we can do custom colour matching in just about any colour.

Does the refinishing process smell? Is there any risk to my family or pets?
Our technicians come equipped with ventilation systems to exhaust paint fumes and any dust from overspray outside of the home.  In addition we enclose our work area so paint smells will not be noticed in other parts of the home.  This makes the process completely safe for people and pets.  Although initially you may notice a residual paint smell after completion, most of the odour will be gone after a few hours.  We advise to keep the bathroom door closed for up to 4 hours after completion.

Do you remove the caulking and re-caulk around the tub when you're done?
Yes, it is important for us to remove all caulking before we start reconditioning the tub. Once we are all completed we apply a smooth, clean caulk line around the tub before we leave.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive?
We ask that all personal items, and shower curtains are removed from the bath area.  Shower doors should be removed unless otherwise arranged with our company.  Check to see that the drain is not clogged, and that there are no leaky faucets.  If possible leaky faucets should be fixed prior to refinishing.

Do you guarantee your work?
Yes, for our residential clients we give a 5 year written guarantee that the finished product will not on its own peel, crack, or blister.

Do you charge for an estimate?
No, in most cases we can give you a quote right over the phone, because frankly we've just about seen it all.  So why not give us a call today for a quote.  Be sure to ask of any specials we may be offering.
